Comodo Introduces Expanded Features and Functionality in NOC Monkey Solution Incorporating Customer Requests

NOC Monkey V1.5 Solution from Positive Software includes server provisioning tool with FreeBSD support at a reduced price - an industry first!

Jersey City, NJ (February 20, 2006) - Comodo Inc., a global leader in Identity and Trust Assurance (ITA) Management solutions, today announced that Psoft, a Comodo company and a leading provider of secure Internet software to manage web hosting environments, has announced today the immediate availability of NOC Monkey V1.5. NOC Monkey (nocmonkey.psoft.net) is the first product for remote server provisioning with management performed through an easy to use web interface. The solution allows full direct access to the server to recover system or install new OS while being at a remote location.

This new version, NOC Monkey V1.5, allows remote server provisioning and recovery tool that to date, was only available to large companies that utilized proprietary solutions. NOC Monkey V1.5 gives companies of all sizes access to leading edge automation tools for the task of server provisioning using a simple Web based interface from which operating systems can be remotely installed and recovered.

Featuring admin and user level access, the system also enables administrators to change root passwords, run fsck in single user mode (for repairing LINUX files), recover hacked servers and custom partition hard disks from the same interface. Furthermore, using a new 'grab/install' system, the software adapts to various OS/hardware configurations by auto detecting new servers. The new version introduces the ability to provision FreeBSD 4.x, 5.x & 6.x, Debian and Slackware, in addition for already supported Red Hat, Fedora, Trustix & CentOS. In Recovery mode the new version adds support for ReiserFS and SELinux.

"Comodo see hugely enhanced provisioning speeds for data center administrators and web-hosting companies alike. Within a few clicks, servers can be remotely recovered, operating systems installed and root passwords changed --exercises that usually require a physical presence and take time, effort and therefore money to accomplish", said Igor Seletsky, CTO of Comodo and leading innovator of NOC Monkey.

"One immediate benefit of this is improved customer response time. The ability to store multiple server profiles and OS configuration images enables Web hosts to quickly respond to customer's requirements", continued Mr Seletsky. "Such "deployment on the fly" represents a massive shortcut compared to installing and configuring a system from scratch. Plus support for FreeBSD, the most requested customer feature, makes NOC Monkey much more useful for our clients, and greatly improves the value for our clients".

Cost and time savings generated by basing a data center or hosting provisioning around NOC Monkey controlled servers could be passed onto customers to generate a competitive advantage in a decidedly tight business. Further, this new version delivers a better value to customers with new pricing model to enable enterprises to achieve operational efficiencies and cost savings.
